Reddit can be useful for product research when you search for firsthand experience, recurring complaints, and comparisons across multiple threads.
Search for usage patterns, not just ratings
The strongest product-review threads often mention durability, return experiences, hidden costs, or situations where a product underperformed. Those are harder to find in polished review sites.
Look for disagreement as well. Mixed threads usually reveal tradeoffs more clearly than uniformly positive ones.
Keep your own bias in check
Search both positive and negative framings. For example, compare best treadmill, treadmill regret, and treadmill maintenance to get a fuller picture.
